North London Derby Part 1 at the Emirates!

Yesterday saw the first North London Derby of the season which Arsenal were held at the Emirates by a well drilled and stubborn Spurs side (like seriously Kane just had to score against us LOL). As always the build up to the game was massive, for a couple of weeks now this is the game that every Arsenal fan has been licking their lips waiting for, me included mainly because Tottenham haven’t been in great form so this was a good chance to beat them in the Premier League which we haven’t done in a while now.

However as the old saying goes, form goes out the window on Derby Day and that was the case today. After a shaky start in the first half Arsenal settled down and started to dominate and took the lead not too long before half time through a Kevin Wimmer own goal assisted by the assist king himself Mesut Ozil. At half time I genuinely thought we had them this time, as the last 15mins we were dominate. However an early mistake in the second half meant we gifted Tottenham a deserved penalty after their blistering start to the second half which Harry Kane put away on his return to the side after 7 weeks off the sidelines.

The game ebbed and flowed mercilessly but both teams could’ve snatched it in the end and a draw was probably a fair result which is hard to accept. A much better result for Tottenham than for us. I just wished that we were more clinical with the chances we had in front of goal and I wish the players showed a bit more fight as it felt that throughout the whole week as much as they would of prepared for the game, at times during the game there was no sense of urgency which frustrated me at times.

A point off the top of the table in November is not to bad going, and we still remain unbeaten from the loss at the start of the season against Liverpool. There is still a long long way to go in this Premier League season but it definitely would have been a great end to the weekend beating spurs and ruining their undefeated run in the Premier league. Next league game is Manchester United away……lets do this! COYG! xxx
