First of all just want to say I hope you’ve all had a lovely peaceful Christmas and a Happy New Year! I spent Christmas and New Year away this year in Dubai with my family which was a relaxing and refreshing change, especially in the lovely sunshine. Back on home soil and adjusting to reality but also a new year! I seriously can’t believe how fast 2017 went! 2017 was a year i’ll never forget! It’s very cheesy to say it but I honestly won’t!
This year I completed my Postgraduate studies and officially closing the chapter on formal classroom education… well for now anyway! Studying for my MA also meant I had the amazing opportunity to meet so many people from around the world and establish friendships. I also started my full-time job post finishing my masters. Which I am ever so grateful for and starting my journey in the world of work. Another highlight was celebrating my grandfathers 80th birthday which was really fun, having family all together to mark that monumental age. There have also been some lows too which made 2017 also very difficult at times. Then to get away with my family to Dubai to celebrate Christmas, new year and rest was a perfect way to end 2017!
If you’ve followed me for a while you know I love colour! And with January known to be a gloomy old month, I want to try and inject some positivity and brightness into it! However, let’s try the opposite of that and be as positive as can be! 2018 can be YOUR year, just have to work hard and make sure you do the best you can. Starting a new year gives you the opportunity to try new things or even make some new changes that can be for the better or worse. But you won’t know until you try. 2018 doesn’t have to be doom or gloom, we have the control to make January as bright and colourful as we want it to be! Paint your own canvas to what you want.
I think the best way to start the year is to have in mind what you want to achieve! We shouldn’t be so hard on ourselves especially when starting the year. Everything doesn’t have to be done in January we do have 12 months. So always keep that in mind! I’m thoroughly excited to see what 2018 brings for me! This is my first year that is education free, with just my summer graduation to mark the end of it! I’m so excited to see what 2018 has in store for me! I’m also determined to keep working as hard as I can, too try and achieve some personal goals with friends and family.
Hope you enjoyed this post and it has given you a boost for the year ahead. Are you excited for 2018 let me know if you have plans already for the year ahead! Enjoy xxx
